NEW FREE DOUBLE GLAZING ENERGY EFFICIENCY RATINGS FROM FENSA

From last January 2016 FENSA  installers were able to use the free window energy ratings as part of their initial registration.  It is also totally voluntary and all's to do is just Opt In, and agree to all the rules and then get supplied in conjunction with a BFRC fabricator.

The new energy efficiency ratings are organised and independently verified by the BFRC.  It's exactly the same as the already existing BFRC scheme in the way of its ratings, and its ratings bands.  Labels provided will cover windows and doors rated from ‘A++’ and all the way to ‘G’.

“This is the most radical promotion of energy efficient double glazing since the launch of BFRC a decade ago,” says FENSA MD Chris Mayne.  “It brings energy efficiency ratings to all English and UK customers under the one name of the most well-known brands in double glazing.  We think that it will greatly boost the numbers of fitters using windows energy efficiency ratings to comply with Regulations and have the labels in front of many more buyers than before.”

At the moment just over 53% of Part L compliant notifications are through double glazing energy ratings systems. All  The rest are by declaration of their U-values.
