The images below illustrate the operation of the ( egress hinge) also known as the easy clean or more commonly used as a quick exit fire escape hinge for upper floor windows.
The right image shows the sash opener at 90 degrees fully opened which allows a person to fit through either way. As opposed to a standard opener that would open to half the angle.
The left image shows the sash being manoeuvred to the centre of the actual opening for ease of clean.
